Reels, video posts and IGTV. Public posts only.

How to download Instagram video in 3 steps

  1. Copying the link of an Instagram reel from the app 1

    Copy the Instagram video link

Open the reel or post, tap the three dots above it and choose Copy link. On a computer, take the address from the browser bar.

  2. Pasting an Instagram video link into the download box 2

    Paste it into the downloader

Drop the link in the box at the top of this page and press Download. The post is read on our server, not on your phone.

  3. Saving an Instagram video as an MP4 file 3

    Save the video as MP4

A preview appears with the file size next to it. One press and the video saves to your device.

What this Instagram reels downloader handles

Reels, ordinary video posts, IGTV, and the moving part of a carousel that mixes photos and clips. Where a post holds several clips, each one is listed on its own so you can take just the one you wanted.

Only public posts can be read. A private account, or a post Instagram hides behind a login, will not open here — the address of the file is never sent to a logged out visitor, so there is nothing to fetch.

Why insta video download sometimes loses the sound

Instagram often stores a reel as two separate pieces: one holding the picture, one holding the audio. A downloader that grabs whichever it finds first hands you a video that plays perfectly and is completely silent.

Every file here is opened and inspected before it is offered. If the copy has no audio track, it is skipped and the next one is tried. That single check is the difference between a reel you can post and a reel you have to throw away.

Quality: what you get back

Whatever Instagram itself stores for that post, usually 720p or 1080p depending on how it was uploaded. Nothing is re-encoded and nothing is compressed on the way through, so the file you save is the file Instagram serves.

The resolution and the exact size in megabytes are both shown on the button before you commit, so you are never guessing what is about to land in your downloads folder.

Instagram video download on iPhone and Android

On Android, Chrome drops the file into the Downloads folder and the Gallery app usually picks it up within a minute. There is nothing else to press.

On iPhone, Safari sends every download to the Files app rather than the camera roll. Open Files, tap Downloads, tap the video, press the share icon and choose Save Video to move it into Photos. That extra step is a Safari rule, not something a downloader can skip.

No account, no app, no extension

The post is read on our server rather than on your phone, so there is nothing to install and nothing tied to your Instagram login. Close the tab and no trace of it is left behind.

That cuts both ways, and deliberately so. Because we are never signed in, a post that only followers can see stays invisible here too, exactly as the person who made it intended.

Is it allowed to download Instagram videos?

Saving a public clip to watch again later is generally fine, and it is what most people use a downloader for. Republishing somebody else's video as your own is a different matter, and no tool changes the copyright behind it.

If you want to use a clip in something you publish, ask the person who made it. Most creators say yes when asked, and take it badly when they are not.

Questions about downloading Instagram videos

Do I need an account to download Instagram video?

No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing is stored about you.

Can I download Instagram reels with music?

Yes. Reels with licensed music keep their audio here, which is exactly where most other tools quietly fail.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in the browser you already have. On Android the file lands in Downloads; on iPhone it goes to the Files app first.

Is there a limit on how many videos I can save?

There is a short pause between requests so the server stays quick for everyone. Normal use never reaches it.

Are the videos stored on your server?

No. The file passes straight through and nothing is written to disk.

Can I repost what I download?

The person who made the video still owns it. Saving it for yourself is one thing; publishing it as your own needs their permission.

Can I download a video from a private account?

No. Private posts are only sent to approved followers, so the video address never reaches us.

Does the downloader add a watermark?

No. The file is passed through untouched, so it carries only whatever the original post already had on it.
